This post is from the website administrator. I serve in this capacity as a volunteer, and because I believe in government transparency.

I have not received approved town board meeting minutes from the town clerk for the months of August and September.

In a roundabout way I was informed that the board had voted to stop posting minutes or announcements to the current .org website until the town board members have had a chance to review the possibility of creating a .gov website.

It’s possible that the board has been misinformed about the legal consequences of continuing to use a website that is not registered as a .gov domain. Please see NYS Open Legislation | NYSenate.gov
In particular read section 2d: “. . .any municipal corporation having a population, as shown by the latest preceding decennial federal census, of less than one thousand five hundred persons, shall comply with the provisions of this section to the extent practicable.”

If you the readers would like to continue to see the town board meeting minutes posted here, please contact the town supervisor, town board members, town clerk, or leave a comment here.
