The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Tompkins Town Board was called to order at 7:00 pm in the Town meeting room, Trout Creek, NY. With Howie Buttel leading in the Flag salute.

RESOLUTION # 74 APPROVAL OF MINUTES – July’s Regular Meeting
A motion was made by Backus, seconded by Buttel, approving the minutes of the regular meeting held on July 13, 2021.
Vote: Motion Carried

RESOLUTION # 75 ABSTRACT OF CLAIMS
On motion by Buttel, seconded by Backus, it was moved to approve the Abstract of Claims for August 10, 2021 as follows:
General Fund: $5,366.91
Highway Fund: $24,784.06
All in favor – Motion carried.


Monthly Financial Reports:
RESOLUTION # 76 TOWN CLERKS MONTHLY REPORT
On motion by Backus, seconded by Buttel it was moved to receive, and place on file the Town Clerks, monthly report for the month of July 2021.
All in favor – Motion Carried

RESOLUTION # 77 SUPERVISOR MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORT
On motion by Backus, seconded by Buttel, it was moved to approve and place on file the supervisor’s monthly financial reports as of July 31, 2021 dated 8/10/2021.
All in favor – Motion Carried

RESOLUTION # 78 SEWER DISTRICT ABSTRACT OF CLAIMS
On motion by Buttel, seconded by LaTourette to approve the sewer districts Abstract of Claims for August 10, 2021 as follows $3749.71
All in favor – Motion carried.

RESOLUTION #79 SEWER DISTRICT FINANCIAL
On motion by LaTourette seconded by Backus it was moved to approve and place on file the sewer districts monthly financial reports for July 2021 dated 8/10/2021.
All in favor, Motion carried.

Highway Superintendent

  1. The heavy rain in July caused some road damage and all has been fixed
  2. Hauled Grindings, sealed roads, Hauled in some gravel.
  3. Repairs have been done to broom.
  4. Expect the 2013 to come back from repairs tomorrow (Wednesday August 11, 2021). It has been out over a month getting repaired.
  5. With the help from County Planning department the two grants from repairs that need to be done on Dryden Rd and Dry Brook have been completed and sent in. Hopefully they get approved

Supervisor –

  1. Bill has spoke with other supervisors on the cannabis related business and the ones he has spoke with have no clear answers to questions that arise. The board tabled discussion.
  2. Bill and Brian have once again spoke with resident on tower mountain about right of way to fire tower and still made no progress. Bill spoke with lawyer on easement situation and is awaiting to hear back.
  3. Received a letter from Campanelli  & Associates attorney offering to review our zoning laws in reference to the g rollout and cell towers. It was explained we don’t need their assistants because the Town has no zoning and we have our own lawyers to review these matters.
