There will be a Public Hearing at the Town of Tompkins Town Hall, 148 Bridge Street, Trout Creek, NY, 13847 on Monday April 9, 2012 at 7:00pm to hear comments regarding the proposed local law for Flood Damage Prevention.  Those interested in reviewing the proposed law in advance of the hearing may click HERE for a PDF of the proposed law.

NOTICE TO CANDIDATES FOR THE TOWN OF TOMPKINS FIRE DISTRICT

NOTICE OF ELECTION FOR THE TOWN OF TOMPKINS FIRE DISTRICT

Annual election for the Town of Tompkins Fire District Commissioner is December 16th 2011 at the Trout Creek Fire Hall from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

November 23rd 2011 is the last day to notify the Secretary in writing of intent to run for office of Fire Commissioner.

The following are up for election.  One 5 Year term is starting January 1st 2012.

Candidate must be a resident of the Town of Tompkins and must take an 8 hour course after being elected.

In order to vote you must be a registered voter of the Town of Tompkins.

Candidate must contact the Secretary of the Board of Commissioners, Town of Tompkins Fire District at 256 Windfall Road, Walton, NY 13856.

[The Town of Tompkins Fire District Board of Commissioners is made up of five commissioners.  The term of each commissioner is five years, but the terms are staggered so that every year the position of one commissioner is up for election.   cfs]

Three public hearings soliciting public comment will be held on May 23, 2011,  at the Town Hall (148 Bridge Street, Trout Creek, NY 13847)

1.  6:00 PM:   Proposed establishment of a Sewer District in the hamlet of Trout Creek.

2.  6:15  PM:   Proposed Sewer Use Law applicable to the proposed Sewer District.

3.  7:00 PM:   Proposed resolution to Disallow NYC/DEP’s Acquisition of land in fee and acquisition of conservation easements within the 1997 MOA Designated Hamlet Area of Trout Creek.

Town of Tompkins residents:  As of Jan 1, 2011 Trout Creek has appointed a new dog control officer.   If you have any dog control issues or complaints in the township you should contact Russell Sprague Jr. at 607-865-9190Russel has begun the Dog Enumeration,  the official count of dogs in the town.   Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

NYSDEC DRAFT WATER SUPPLY PERMIT for NYCH2OLAP is available for review HERE.  This permit shall be binding for fifteen (15) years ‑‑ ten (10) years with an automatic five (5) year renewal.  In the Catskill and Delaware drainage basins a land acquisition cap for the City has been set at 105,043 acres for the life of the permit.
