The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Tompkins Town Board was called to order at 7:00 pm in the Town meeting room, Trout Creek, NY. With W. Layton leading in the Flag salute.

RESOLUTION # 50 APPROVAL OF MINUTES
On motion by Albanese seconded by Buttel, approving the minutes of the Regular meeting
held on May 9, 2023.

RESOLUTION # 51 ABSTRACT OF CLAIMS
On motion by LaTourette, seconded by Backus, it was moved to approve the Abstract of Claims for June 13, 2023 as follows:
General Fund: $6,846.94
Highway Fund: $40,390.38

RESOLUTION # 52 TOWN CLERKS MONTHLY REPORT
On motion by LaTourette, seconded by Buttel it was moved to receive, and place on file the Town Clerks, monthly report for May 2023

RESOLUTION # 53 SUPERVISOR MONTHLY FINANCIAL REPORT
On motion by LaTourette, seconded by Buttel, it was moved to approve and place on file the supervisor’s monthly financial reports as of May 31, 2023 dated 6/13/2023.

RESOLUTION # 54 SEWER DISTRICT ABSTRACT OF CLAIMS
On motion by Backus, seconded by Buttel to approve the sewer districts Abstract of Claims for June 13, 2023 as follows $2,825.00

RESOLUTION #55 SEWER DISTRICT FINANCIAL
On motion by Albanese seconded by LaTourette it was moved to approve and place on file the sewer districts monthly financial reports for May 31, 2023 dated 6/13/2023.

OLD BUSINESS –
Albanese asked Ron VanValkenburg if he received any interest of youth summer help for Town Highway. Ron reported that there was none at this time. Layton reported if there was no youth interest for the highway the youths can be hired to do tasks around the Town Hall.

REPORTS:
Sewer District worker’s report – Provided.
Contact will be made with the Lawn care provider on weed eating not being done around the SD Fence and the tank covers.
Layton stated he contacted Leo’s Lawn Care about the issues with the storm-water retrofit beds. They will get back to him with the price.
Assessor – Nothing to report
Planning Board – Still looking for an alternate for the planning board.
Dog control Officer – None
Backus spoke with DCO about the enumeration and was told he will have to come up with a plan for the process.
Highway Superintendent –
- Ron reported a new radiator was needed for the 2023 International and was covered by warranty
- Ron reported – Brush has been cut, Roads have been worked, Dust control has been put down, Repairs have been done on the boom mower,
- Ron reported a pressure washer will be purchased for approximately $3630.
- Ron reported Carver crushing will be done hopefully by the end of July.
- Ron reported that he was approached by an individual that lives on Franskevicz Rd. Spur requesting that portion of road be abandoned. The Property owner was advised of the process they would have to take.
- Ron reported that CHIPS is enforcing the 10 year resurfacing limit. Causing the town to resurface roads every 10 years not the 5 years in past.
- Resolution #56 – Resurfacing Walton Mountain Road
On motion by LaTourette, seconded by Layton it was moved to allow resurfacing Walton Mountain Road using the funds from 5110.4 due to new CHIPS rules.

Supervisor –
- Layton reported that approx. 25 ft behind Gardepe, Griffin and the Legion that is on County route 27, is being mowed. The only issue that this may cause is that area may become the walking trail. It was also found the Town has a right of way between Gardepe and Griffin.
- Layton reported he called Mike Ruling on repairs that have to be done around Town Bldg.
- Layton reported that Backus also contacted someone about repairs but at this time he cannot commit.
- Layton contacted the Water Bottle company and asked if they could no longer provide water bottles until they are contacted, due to the accumulation of unused bottles provided.
- Layton reported that 2 individuals have inquired about the court clerk position but have decided not to take the position. Another individual has inquired recently and they will contact Linda.
- Layton reported he went around Town Hall and put all electronics that are no longer used. Albanese will take them to the dump.
- Layton reported he received letters from a property owner on Wagon Wheel Road asking for abandonment of that road. Layton inquired with NYC and they requested the letters. All were forwarded to them.
- Layton reported on the progress of the fire tower. A sign will go up stating that there will be no trespassing/ private property. Any board members who are interested in where the road will go are to gather June 22, 2023 at 6pm to see where road will be placed.
- Layton reported that all the floors at the Town Hall have been stripped and waxed by Floor Fool.

Received a thank you letter from Sierra Allen thanking the Town for paying for her 2023 4H fees.
